Your Voice, Your Salinas
The City needs to hear from you! There are many ways to stay engaged, from participating through community surveys to providing public comment for items presented to the City Council. Other important public meetings include our Board and Commission meetings. These Boards and Commissions are comprised of engaged community members who vote on and make recommendations to the Council on projects and initiatives within the purview of each Board and Commission. Whether you have limited time to complete a survey or can volunteer to serve regularly on a Board or Commission, your voice is important and valued by the City.
Current engagement opportunities are posted here, but don't forget to sign up for text message and/or email notifications so you're informed on upcoming community meetings, surveys, events, and more!

Board and Commission meetings are agendized and run in the same manner as City Council meetings with a public comment period for items not on the Board/Committee agenda and posting of the agenda no later than 3 days before the meeting.
Members of the public are appointed by the Mayor and City Council to serve as their representative of each respective council district or the city-at-large in the case of the Mayor's appointment.
