Deferred Submittals/Fire Plan Check Process

Plan Submission:

  • All plans must be submitted electronically via email to fireprevention@ci.salinas.ca.us
Documentation Requirement:

  • Additional documentation such as: Cover Sheet, Calculations, Cut Sheets, Plans and Product Information
Payment Methods:
  • Cash: Permit Center- 65 W. Alisal Street, Salinas, CA 93901
  • Credit Card Authorization Form: Click Here(PDF, 102KB)
  • Check: City of Salinas- 65 W. Alisal Street, Salinas, CA 93901
Notes:
  • Fees for plan reviews will be charged in accordance with City of Salinas' policies.
  • Prior to the release of the approved plans, all plan review fees must be paid in full.
  • Turn-around time for plan submittals is 10 business days
  • Appointments with the Fire Plan Checker can be arranged upon request
  • Questions can be directed to fireprevention@ci.salinas.ca.us

Note: Fire Operational Permits are also referred to as Fire Hydrant Use Permits

INSPECTIONS

How to schedule an inspection?

Please email fireprevention@ci.salinas.ca.us or call 831-758-7466 to schedule an inspection with the fire inspectors.

What do I need to provide when scheduling? 

  • Provide the building or permit number 
  • Confirm the address 
  • Let us know what date you would like 
  • Indicate whether you prefer a morning (AM) or afternoon (PM) inspection
  • Provide name and phone number of onsite contact
  • Provide name and phone number of a secondary contact (if applicable)
