Josh Hostetter

We're proud to share that Josh Hostetter of the Salinas Fire Department was recently recognized as Citizen of the Year by the Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce at their 104th Annual Awards Luncheon!!

Thanks to the Chamber, the event brought together leaders from all corners of our community—government, education, healthcare, non-profits, and local businesses—to celebrate those who make a real impact. Among them was Josh, whose dedication to Salinas has spanned over two decades.

Josh’s fire service journey began in high school, inspired by his grandfather and uncle, both of whom were firemen. After working with CalFire, he joined the Salinas Fire Department in 2002 and has since served as a firefighter, engineer, and the longtime president of the Salinas Firefighters Association. He’s also a member of the Critical Incident Stress Management Team. Outside of work, Josh is a son, husband, and proud father of four daughters.

This recognition is more than just an award—it’s a testament to the impact Josh makes every day, both at the firehouse and at home.

Please join us in congratulating him!
