Monterey County Fire Service Awards and Reunion Event

The Monterey County Fire Chiefs Association (MCFCA) is proud to continue its long-standing tradition of recognizing outstanding firefighters and support personnel for their dedication, passion, and contributions to public safety and the Monterey County fire service. This year, we are excited to introduce an expanded event format that not only celebrates our honorees but also brings together the entire fire service community for an evening of recognition and camaraderie.

Unanimously recommended by a MCFPA ad-hoc committee:

  • Career Firefighter of the Year – Engineer/Paramedic Ryan Macoubrie, Salinas Fire Department
  • Reserve/Volunteer Firefighter of the Year – Carlos Forte, Mid-Coast Fire Brigade
  • Support Person of the Year – Cheryl Kouretas, Monterey Fire Department

In addition to the awards ceremony recognizing these distinctions, the event aims to foster camaraderie by welcoming retirees from across the county’s fire service agencies for a reunion-style gathering. MCFCA hopes to establish this as an annual tradition, strengthening the bond within our fire service family while celebrating the dedication and accomplishments of those who serve.

Please join us for this year's Fire Service Honors and Reunion Dinner on March 29, 2025, at Bayonet & Black Horse in Seaside from 6:00pm 10:00pm!
